I am a graphic designer currently working with designing surface patterns, creating related motifs, illustrations, and paintings.
For me, life is a constant search for inspiration; my sources of inspiration are quite diverse constantly evolve my world view. Inspiration often starts with the color of the nature and I love to take photos wherever I go, mostly of nature and similar things that I can build in my designs. Music and dance is also a big part of my life and inspires me every day, my husband is a jazz musician and from that, jazz and hip-hop music has a huge impact on my work.
I like to experiment with different techniques and compositions seeking to find the balance between perfection and beauty. I use acrylic on fiberboard and canvas, and watercolor on paper. My process of designing prints and patterns is first to draw by hand, for example draw with brush pen, or I paint the motifs and edit them on later using a computer. I have also recently found collage to be an exciting medium due to the use of different materials and textures.
It’s very rare that I project any bad feelings I have into my art and I mostly don’t share them with others. The reason for this is that I believe it’s become reality if given too much to feed it. Meditations and dreams also provide me with a strong source of inspiration and I often want to paint to canvas what I have seen in them. Earlier in my journey I tried to make these visualizations as lifelike as possible but nowadays it is more important to share the feeling and emotions even if the final picture is more abstract.
I want to make an impact and prompt change in others. In order to accomplish this, it was necessary for me to improve my improvisational ability, to dare to improvise, and allowing myself to make a mistake and to be clumsy on the canvas. I love the pictures that have been born this way, they feel more alive than my point-to-point planned paintings.
I think it's important to let our feelings flow freely during the creative process. I've learned a lot about this from my husband over the last 5 years. He explained to me how communication works through music on stage and I saw at their concerts how they are talking to each other in “another language”, the language of music. Similarly I try share my creations in the language of visualization, and it is in this language that I try to share happiness with as many people as I can.
